A rare opportunity for a qualified Assessor to join the team in the Glasgow and surrounding area is available. You will have experience of SVQ/MA delivery in a variety of areas, including Business Administration, Management, Learning and Development and Core Skills. Occupational competence gained from working in the Optical Sector is desirable, but not essential. We deliver an interesting portfolio of qualifications, so there is plenty of opportunity to develop your case load and career with us.


The development journey our learners take will be the core requirement of the role as a positive experience for all. You need to be highly organised, self-managing, setting an excellent example to your learners throughout.


Work-life balance is important to all of us, so Rewards offer flexible working patterns and this role would suit part-time or full-time hours. The role will involve both face to face and remote assessment of learners. A Verifier qualification is preferred but not essential, as a development opportunity is available.

Business Development Consultant

Hybrid role - covering Edinburgh

Rewards Training Scotland is a leading training provider in Scotland with offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow. We specialise in Modern Apprenticeships, the recruitment of apprentices, accredited qualifications and business training.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Business Development Consultant to join our team in Edinburgh (or Glasgow). You will be part of the Business Development team and report to the Business Development Manager.


The position is full-time, 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday with half an hour for lunch. The role will be a blend of working from home and the office.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The successful applicant will promote our training and recruitment services to existing clients and new businesses in the local and the surrounding areas.


Other duties will include but not restricted to:

Business Development:

• Account managing existing clients

• Keeping the CRM database up to date with all activity

• Cold calling to generate new business and repeat business

• Attend face to face/Zoom/Teams appointments with existing and potential clients

• Following up on leads generated by other staff

• Attending external events including employment roadshows and networking events

• Working towards monthly sales targets

Apprenticeship Recruitment:

• Working as a team to generate new leads and fill apprenticeship vacancies

• Advertising your apprenticeship vacancies on various job portals

• Reviewing and shortlisting candidate CVs

• Conducting interviews with 16-19 year olds for prospective apprenticeship opportunities

• Completing qualification sign up paperwork

• Liaising with the training team with updates on candidates, supporting the assessor team when necessary.

• There is an opportunity to get involved with the company’s social media and blogging 

• Attend high schools or hold online meetings to share information with the pupils on apprenticeships and answer any questions they may have. 

• Networking with high schools and local authorities to increase awareness of apprenticeship opportunities and find potential candidates. 



Qualifications and Skills:

Ideally a graduate with minimum 2 years experience of sales or a background in commercial recruitment, learning & development or have worked for a training provider. Full training will be given to the right candidate who can demonstrate a commitment to succeed in this challenging but rewarding role.


A driving licence is also extremely beneficial to the job role but not essential.
