Apprenticeship Recruitment

Apprenticeship Recruitment
We provide a low cost apprenticeship recruitment service dedicated to finding the correct individuals for work-based learning opportunities within a variety of organisations. Since we began, Rewards Training has recruited hundreds of young people into Modern Apprenticeship (MA) roles.

We work in partnership with Skills Development Scotland and local schools to ensure that our vacancies attract the attention of suitable and enthusiastic young people who are looking for employment.

We can also support any existing employees through a Modern Apprenticeship if they are in a suitable job role.

How it works

Tailored Recruitment

Firstly, we will discuss your recruitment needs as an organisation, from the job role and duties to the qualities and skills that you are looking for in a candidate.

Advertising the Vacancy

We will then advertise the vacancy and review all applicants. As a training provider we also have access to Skills Development Scotland’s Modern Apprenticeship recruitment portal.

Shortlisting and Selection

We will then conduct initial face-to-face interviews to identify the strongest applicants.

After our initial interviews, we will then compile a shortlist and send those applicant profiles to you. You can then let us know who you would like to interview. We will then contact those applicants on your behalf and arrange their second interview.

Choosing the Successful Candidate

Once you have selected the successful candidate, we can make the job offer and arrange their start date.

We will then also provide feedback to those who were unsuccessful on your behalf.

About the Modern Apprenticeship

Once your new employee has settled into their new role for approximately one month, your Rewards assessor will contact you to arrange the first apprenticeship visit.

The qualification is split into units allowing you to tailor the qualification to meet both your business requirements and your employees specific areas of development.

The candidate will then work towards building their e-portfolio with full support being provided by Rewards throughout the qualification, visiting the workplace to meet with your apprentice. The candidate's progress will be reviewed at visits and we will seek your input and feedback as part of this. The e-portfolio allows the candidate to easily submit work and communicate with their assessor.

Line managers are also able to track the apprentice’s progress through the e-portfolio and have the benefit and support of open communication with Rewards throughout. The duration of the qualification is approximately 9 to 12 months.

Why recruit through Rewards?

Quality of candidates

As we place the candidate into a Modern Apprenticeship position, we have to ensure that they are genuinely employable and show strong indications of being interested in their role.

Cost

We are a training company, therefore charge significantly less than most commercial recruitment agencies. However, you will receive the same quality results. We will also access any funding that is available to help with the cost of the qualification.

Years of experience

We were established in 1989, so therefore we have years of experience in supplying a quality service to a range of clients.

No Obligation

There is no obligation or commitment until selection is complete and you are happy with the chosen candidate.

Responsibilities as an employer

  • What type of contract is required?

The contract must last at least one year and be for at least 30 hours per week. The apprentice must not exceed the 8 hour a day or 40 hours per week. They are also entitled to paid holidays and rest breaks of at least 30 minutes if their shift lasts more than four and a half hours. They must be given at least 20 days paid holiday per year as well as bank holidays.

  • How much should the apprentice be paid?

Rewards does not support the apprentice wage and our Modern Apprentices should be paid the national minimum wage for their age.

  • What staff training is required?

Employers must give their apprentice an induction into their role and provide on-the-job training. However, the Rewards assessor will support your apprentice through their Modern Apprenticeship/SVQ by visiting the workplace on a regular basis.
