ILM Level 5 Certificate in Effective Coaching and Mentoring

Who is this qualification for?
  • Those with significant responsibility for effective coaching and mentoring as part of their daily role within an organisational context. 
  • Those who wish to move into a development role. 
  • Those who are looking to start a career as a freelance coach or mentor.
This qualification has 3 units
  • 1. Understanding the Skills, Principles and Practice of Effective Coaching and Mentoring within an Organisational Context.
    • Define coaching and mentoring and the similarities and differences. 
    • Identify potential barriers, and how coaching and mentoring can benefit individuals and organisational performance. 
    • Explore the knowledge, skills, behaviour and responsibilities of an effective coach and mentor
  • 2. Undertaking Effective Coaching or Mentoring within an Organisational Context.
    • Preparing and planning coaching sessions with one or more clients to complete a minimum of 12 hours of formal coaching activity. 
    • Review your use of a range of diagnostic coaching and mentoring tools and techniques. 
    • Collecting feedback for clients, reflecting upon own work, identifying areas for improvement.
  • 3. Reviewing Own Ability as a Coach or Mentor within an Organisational Context.
    • Conduct an evidenced assessment analysis of your own ability as a coach relating to knowledge, skills and behaviours, using this analysis to review your strengths and weaknesses. 
    • Reflect on the effectiveness of tutorial supervision, recording and logging your own progress, and produce a development plan for the next 12 months.

Delivery

6 sessions (2 sessions per unit) delivered online through Zoom. Joining instructions will be sent to you prior to the course starting.

This qualification is approved for up to £200 ITA funding depending on eligibility.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Aged 16 or over
  • Not in education or involved in any other SDS funded programme
  • Unemployed and looking to get back into work
  • Currently employed and earning less than £22,000 per year
  • Resident in Scotland

Cost
£1800+VAT. Includes ILM registration fee, personal induction, tutorial support and all training materials.
