SOCIAL SERVICES AND HEALTHCARE SVQ 
AT SCQF LEVEL 9
About this SVQ:
This SVQ is suitable for individuals who are currently in employment and who wish to obtain a formal qualification or people who are employed in the health and social care sector in a senior and/or management role.

This qualification takes around 12 - 18 months to complete.
This Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) is awarded by Qualifications Scotland and consists of mandatory units and optional units. The range of optional units to choose from, enables the qualification to be tailored to meet both business requirements and the employees specific areas of development.

Mandatory units:
  • Maintain effective communication systems and practice
  • Lead practice for health and safety in the work setting
  • Take responsibility for the continuing professional development of yourself and others
  • Lead practice that promotes the safeguarding of individuals
The Process:
The learner will work towards building their evidence with full support being provided by Rewards throughout the qualification, visiting the workplace to meet with the learner. Progress will be reviewed at visits and we will seek the managers input and feedback as part of this.

    This SVQ is suitable for individuals who are currently in employment and who wish to obtain a formal qualification. The target audience for the SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare are people who are support workers in care home services for adults. It is a requirement by the SSSC that everyone employed in this capacity should be working towards achievement of this qualification.
